2021 Exhibition Raffle Results

December 6, 2021 | Posted in raffle | By

The draw took place last Thursday(2/12) at the evening meeting. Canberra Quilters draws tickets and the drawn ticket holder chooses which prize they want.

This year the first drawn ticket holder was also the the third drawn ticket holder. In keeping with her generosity of spirit, Ruth Schwensen chose only one prize and asked that another ticket be drawn.

First drawn ticket 0677, Ruth Schwensen. Chose the cash prize.

Second drawn ticket 1448, Pam Strickland. Chose the quilt.

Third drawn ticket (originally 0689, Ruth), but 0871 was picked in the redraw. This belonged to Donna Sunderland, so she gets the Bernette 33 sewing machine.

Congratulations to our winners. Thanks to those who sold tickets or bought tickets. Your support is very welcome.

Next year’s raffle quilt is under construction, so look out for the tickets in the new year. We have a shorter turnaround in 2022 as the exhibition is in early June.

The evening meeting is this Thursday, 1 June, 7pm for a 7.30pm start, in the Hall at the Cook Community Hub. The meeting starts with formal committee (and other) reports and news followed by an activity.

This month it is all about #100Days100Blocks. With over 57,000 images on its hashtag , the 100 Days 100 Blocks sew-along is the largest Instagram based sew-along ever held. Come behind-the-scenes to find out more about this yearly event and how you can participate and connect with quilters all over the world. It is the perfect event for beginners and confident quilters alike!

An additional attraction at this month’s meeting is the QFO team selling fabric that is excess to their requirements – they get lots of donations and can’t use it all. The money raised is used to buy supplies like batting, to continue this community project.

Please bring something along for regular show & tell – we all like to see what everyone is working on.

All the usual meeting fun- lucky door prize, badge draw, raffle and regular show and tell. Don’t forget to stay and chat over a cuppa and check out the show and tell.
