The evening meeting is this Thursday, 4 August, 7pm for a 7.30pm start, in the Hall at the Cook Community Hub.

The featured speakers this month are Ann McMahon and Monika McInerney from the Belconnen Arts Centre. They will speak to us about their full range of programs; how to apply for exhibitions, running workshops and possibilities for working collaboratively with them.

You can return your raffle tickets at the meeting- the deadline has now passed for returns. Under the terms of the permit we must account for all tickets – so you need to return them sold or unsold! Leonie will be happy to help you out. The more tickets sold the better we are able to support Canberra Quilters’ activities. One of the raffle quilts is in the banner of this post.

All the usual meeting fun- lucky door prize, badge draw, raffle and regular show and tell. . Don’t forget to stay and chat over a cuppa and check out the show and tell. Supper will be in the Hall.

Due to exhibition preparations the CQ room is closed. This means the library won’t be open for borrowing. The returns box will be in the corridor outside the room.

Wonderful Wednesday Meeting – 15 June

June 13, 2016 | Posted in Exhibition, Meetings | By

The next Wonderful Wednesday meeting will be in the Cook Community Hub Hall on 15 June, from 9.30am until 12.30pm. It is followed by a drop-in session in the CQ room until 4pm.

Exhibition Secretary (Liz Rose) will be present at both, so you can drop in your entry, volunteer or intention to sell forms to her.

The exhibition raffle co-ordinator will be also present so you can pick up & drop off your raffle books. The more tickets we sell the better – it is a way of supporting CQ activities like the library.

At WW you can sit and hand sew, knit, chat and enjoy the morning tea. There is ‘stuff’ for free on the stage – members use it to recycle fabric, books and magazines. There is also lucky door, badge draw and raffles. The extra themes show & tell this month is pictorial/landscape quilts or black and white quilts.
