Every year Canberra Quilters has a quilt challenge theme category at the exhibition. For 2017 the theme chosen by the main committee is ‘In your Prime’. 2017 is a prime number after all!
Members can choose to respond to the theme any way they like in their quilt as long as it meets the size requirements of 70cm x 50cm, portrait or landscape orientation. The challenge quilts generally travel as a group to other quilt groups during the subsequent year.
You are invited to make a quilt in the challenge format, incorporating the idea of ‘In your Prime’.
You may choose to make it from primary colours (red, yellow and blue), reflect something about you in your prime, play on the numbers, choose an appropriate block or play on the words. You have many paths you could follow in making your quilt.
Enter your items in the Annual Members Exhibition, held in August 2017. You have until June to submit an entry. The entry pack will be available in mid 2017 with Connecting Threads and online. You need to be a member by 31 March 2017 to be eligible to enter items in the exhibition.
