The Creative Clothing Interest Group meets on Thursday 12 March in the CQ room, from 10am.
If you are interested in making creative garments and accessories this is the get-together for you. Work on your own project, have something for show and tell, get help with fitting, use the big table to cut out a garment…there are many options available.
The first meeting of the Creative Clothing interest group is on Thursday 12 February, from 10 am, in the CQ room at Cook.
This group has a focus on making clothing and accessories using creative techniques – especially embellishment, manipulation and surface design.
The Creative Clothing Interest Group resumes meeting after the break for the exhibition. The start time is 10am in the CQ room. The last meeting was actually a trip to Goulburn – you can see some of the action on the Canberra Quilters Instagram page – link Plans for this meeting(edited from Sandra’s bulletin) :
- Lincraft project idea (suggested by Louise) for making a cloth doll for charity would be undertaken. Louise will bring templates of the doll to be cut out of calico. Donna has kindly offered to bring the calico. You will need to bring any resources you have that would be suitable for filling the doll, eg bits of wadding. Also you should bring a sewing kit that includes scissors, thread, needles, pins, etc.
- Post-Exhibition Discussion – Thank you to those people who entered their garments and accessories in the Exhibition. Please bring along any suggestions or ideas you might have for improving next year’s presentation and content.
- Creative Clothing Challenge for 2015 It would be great to have another group challenge which we could be started this year. Bring along ideas so a decision can be made.
