Elaine White is seeking Modern Quilts to hang at Erindale Library for
the next exhibition there, from early February to early May.
Quilts must have a hanging sleeve, with no side larger than 230 cm. A title, and a short paragraph about the quilt or its maker is also appreciated. Label preferred but not essential.
Can you please contact Elaine to offer your quilt and organise pickup/drop off? Her contact details are in our newsletter, Connecting Threads.
A message from the convenor, Jenny Emerton:
A beautiful selection of quilts featuring floral themes is now hanging at Erindale Library. They are very colourful and cover a range of eras and styles. Some older favourites are included in this exhibition. They demonstrate that flowers are an enduring inspiration for quilt makers. Many thanks to the seven members who contributed quilts for this exhibition.
This exhibition will remain in the Library until early August. After that I’m planning an exhibition of the work of Liz Rose.
The last exhibition for 2019 may have a ‘Stars’ theme if I can get enough stars quilts.
Please be in touch with Jenny Emerton for offers of quilts, ideas for future themes or any other matters to do with quilt exhibitions at the Library.
Erindale Library is in McBryde Crescent, Wanniassa. It is adjacent to the shopping precinct and Erindale Theatre.
Canberra Quilters have revived the program of hanging quilts in the Erindale Library. The Llbrary is part of the Erindale College, theatre and gym complex at 133 McBryde Circuit, Wanniassa. Here are some images of the quilts hanging high in the library:
