Modern quilters final meeting of 2017 – 14 December

The next meeting is 14 December, from 7.30pm, in the CQ room at the Cook Community Hub.

It is the last meeting of the year…so there will be lots to show!

Oh, and if you are up to it, bring along some food to nibble on.  Don’t feel obliged.  We don’t need lots of food and just a couple of people bringing a plate to share will be plenty for us.

There will be a fat quarter exchange that involves stealing, evil cackling, nose snorting, heartbreak and joy. If you want to play along bring 2 modern design Fat Quarters (FQs) wrapped together. And since we are the modern group the fabric must be an attractive modern design.  People will only steal attractive fabric and you don’t want to be left with uglies that you have to cut into itty bitty pieces so they don’t look ugly do you?  If you are struggling with a modern design fabric and are feeling stressed from the pressure you could consider including stripes, dots, geometrics or solids in your contribution. But stay away from the little tone on tone nanna florals.

We aim to encourage members to learn about, discuss and experiment with the principles of the Modern Quilt movement. Graphic styles, clear modern colours and renewed simplicity in quilting is sweeping the world!

The next meeting won’t be until February 2018.
