Canberra Quilters welcomes back members to its first meeting of the year – the Wonderful Wednesday meeting from 9.30am until 12.30pm in the Cook Community Hub Hall.
The meeting is a sit and sew meeting, with a more formal part with announcements, show and tell, raffles and lucky door draw, after 11.15am. Morning tea is provided by a rostered table (rotates through the year). Visitors welcome to come along, for a gold coin donation. The CQ room will be open after the meeting for drop-in and access to the library.
The extra show & tell this month is from the ROWmakers design group, who meet on the second Wednesday of the month. See the results of the 2014 design challenge – finished and unfinished. The images below give some indication of the work brought to the last meeting of the year, in December. This group resumes on 11 Feb at 10am in the CQ room.
Members are reminded that the membership fee was due on 1 Jan – renew or join now so you can obtain all the benefits of membership. This includes use of the library, participation in drop-ins and meetings, exhibiting in the annual exhibition, serving on the committee!
As you can see from the images, some quilts are finished, some are just tops or partially completed. There are also a couple brought in that were from previous years and are now complete. In 2014 a number of members chose to adopt a medallion layout for their quilt.
