Wonderful Wednesday – 18 March

The next Wonderful Wednesday meeting is on 18 March, from 9.30am until 12.30pm, in the Cook Community Hub Hall. WW is a sit and stitch meeting with a more formal part after 11am.

The special Show & Tell theme is animal quilts.  Quilts with animals on them- the fabric, pieced or applique. Quilts made for animals – dog or cat. So have you got something to show us?

There will be regular show & tell, lucky door draw and raffles. Morning tea provided. The library will be open in the CQ room, after the meeting, during the drop-in from 1-4pm.

After last month’s meeting, at the drop-in, a group of members gathered to have a bag-sewing bee. These are the bags given away with purchases from the Sales Room, at the annual exhibition. Below are some images from the day. This month they are having a bag cutting bee – to cut more bags out. If you would like to help please bring your cutting tools (cutter, mat and ruler). Some mats and rulers are available in the room, but depending on numbers, there may not be sufficient to go round.

Some volunteers used overlockers, some sewing machines and some helped with trimming – a productive day:
