Two separate organisations have a call out for entries for wearables. One is for Art U Wear, entries due 10 May. The other is the Australian National Brooch Show, entries due 22 May 2015.
1) ART U Wear
A VERY SPECIAL COMPETITION IS ON NOW AND YOU CAN BE PART OF IT! ART U WEAR IS A CHALLENGE TO CREATE A WEARABLE ART OUTFIT UNDER THE THEME ‘ICONIC AUSTRALIA’.
This is the perfect opportunity for textile artists, designers, students and anyone with a love of textile art to show what they can do!
The finalists will be displayed at Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair, June 17 to 21, 2015 with the winners being announced during the show. Selected entries will then also be chosen to tour various craft events around the country until November 2015.

The competition is open to the public and you need to submit your online entry form and three images of your design between December 10, 2014 and May 10, 2015. So get your thinking caps on now! Outfits can be any interpretation of the theme so long as they are primarily (more than 50%) textile material, and group entries are accepted as well.
The individual or groups responsible for the three winning outfits will also share in prize money of $5000!

2) Australian National Brooch Show
Contemporary artists are invited to submit up to 4 brooches (small wearable artworks) for the exhibition Both 2D & 3D works can be submitted. Entry fee for each brooch is $5. See the website of the Contemporary Art Society of Victoria Inc (CAS) HERE for all details & online entry form. The deadline for receipt of entries: 22 May 2015.
