Our raffle co-ordinator Leonie has put the call out for volunteers to sell raffle tickets:
Volunteers are needed to help sell raffle tickets at the Addicted to Fabric annual sale on Friday 3 June and Saturday 4 June. If you have an hour or two to spare on the Friday between 7am and 7pm and/or the Saturday between 10am and 4pm, please contact Leonie Grigg through the details in the newsletter. The only time no longer available is 10am to 12 noon on Friday. Your help would be appreciated.
Sell raffle tickets for an hour – pick up a bargain at the sale!
The evening meeting is this Thursday 7pm, for a 7.30pm start, in the Hall at the Cook Community Hub.
All the usual meeting fun- lucky door prize, badge draw, raffle and show and tell. Library is open before and after the meeting in the CQ room. Don’t forget to stay and chat over a cuppa and check out the show and tell.
The special show and tell and display is from our first decade (1976-1985). So if you have quilts, bags, clothes to show please bring tem along. Also if you have any books/ mags or patterns from that ere it would be great to see them.
Reminder that deposits for the CQ 40th birthday lunch on 17 July are due ($10). Payments can be made at the meeting or by EFT/ direct deposit. The latter should be references with “40th lunch”.

The next Wonderful Wednesday meeting is on 15 July, from 9.30am until 12.30pm in the Community Hall at the Cook Community Hub. WW is a sit and stitch meeting with a more formal part after 11am.
This month is a special show & tell with a theme of Christmas in July. Bring along your Christmas quilts, ornaments, tree skirts, table runners.
There will be regular show & tell, lucky door draw and raffles. Morning tea provided.

Each year Canberra Quilters Inc has a raffle that is drawn at the end of the exhibition (6-9 August 2015). Any money made from the raffle contributes to the running of the group, including buying supplies for Quilts for Others. QFO creates quilts for donation to community organisations.
The prizes for this year’s raffle are:
- Queen size quilt Crystal Symphony (value $2050)
- King size quilt Bright Lights ($1750)
- Bernina Oxford 6 sewing machine (value $699)
- Hamper of Sewing/ Quilting items ($250)
First drawn ticket gets first choice of prizes, second drawn ticket gets choice of remaining prizes, and so on.
Tickets are $2 each and are available through members and local quilting shops and at Canberra Quilters meetings.
