SECURITY CODE CHANGE
The codes to arm and disarm the security for our room will be changing in mid to late December.
The lovely volunteers who take responsibility for opening and closing the room for our many get togethers will be notified of the new codes either at the Volunteers Supper being planned in the next few weeks or via an email.
BUT please note – only ‘trained’ volunteers will be notified. These are people who have been through a familiarisation session on how to arm/disarm the security, and what responsibility they take on by volunteering to help take care of our room. This is not onerous but such things as who to call and where to go in case of an emergency evacuation are important to know.
If you want to volunteer but haven’t been trained or you need a refresher Helen Rose has scheduled two separate sessions:
- Tuesday 13 November at 7:30pm and
- Thursday 22 November at 5:00pm.
These will each take about 1 hour. Please contact Helen via email or on 0410 170 176 if you want to attend. If these times don’t suit you please contact Helen and another arrangement can be made.
This Saturday, 29 July, is the day members deliver the items entered in the annual members’ exhibition. The delivery venue is the CQ room at the Cook Community Hub, between 9am and 4.30pm.
Please be aware there is some maintenance going on at the site starting this week, but it is not close to our building:
- Thursday 27th pm Install Temporary Fencing – Pollution set up- mark out saw cutting
- Friday 28th am Saw cutting of all concrete / pavers areas / concrete pathways / UST area
- Monday 31st start exploration and removal of oil / vent / boiler room feed lines / UST pump out and removal
- Tuesday 1st finish UST removal
- Wait for test results before remediation works commence
The power cord from one of the CQ Bernina machines is missing. If you have used one of these machines recently, please check your sewing projects to make sure you haven’t inadvertently packed it up.
The cord can be returned at any of the meetings or drop-ins. Please contact committee member Wendy if you discover the cord.
At the moment the air conditioning in the CQ room is out of order. It has been reported for attention. You will be notified when it is operational again.
The wall mounted power points in the CQ room are now back in service. Please report any further outages to Wendy
At the moment the circuit breaker for the wall power points had been tripped in the CQ room. Until maintenance come in to check it out the overhead points are the only ones that are working. Notices are posted in the room and you will be advised when we are back to normal.
