The Small Japanese Projects group next meets on 22 July, from 10am until 12 noon.
Here is a message from Wendy about the project they will be working on:
A small bag – handy as a gift, or for storing threads etc for a particular project. This is a hands on project. We will using the Canberra Quilters machines to sew just a couple of seams.
Here’s what you need to bring so you can make the bag on the day. A square of fabric, 20 x 20 inches, hemmed all round. A furoshiki about that size would work well, or a fat quarter. You might consider fabrics other than quilting cotton, but heavy fabrics are not suitable. 24″ of nice thick cord. Available from places like from Addicted to Fabric, or a bead shop. 2 big beads with big holes that the cord will fit through.
Your normal sewing kit.
