ROWmakers final meeting – 13 December

Next meeting is on Wednesday 13 December, 10am for a 10.30am start, in the CQ room at the Cook Community Hub. It is followed by a drop-in, until 4pm. So you can stay all day to sew.

This is our final meeting of the year – maybe we shall see some finished quilts or tops…

We will discuss the plans for 2018 and have morning tea. If you wish, please bring a small plate of food to share.

A quilt is made over the year by each member making their own rows, or blocks or items like bags. A list of ingredients is released at the beginning of the year and at each meeting two items are chosen to incorporate into that month’s design challenge. One will be a colour and one will be an additive. For instance- each row contains two “ingredients”, e.g. purple and geometry, but in whatever way the maker chooses. As the name shows, this can be a noisy group!

This is the list for the year:

# Colours Additives Inspirations
1 Turquoise Paints/ pencils/ dyes/ ink Letters
2 Red Recycled/ leftovers/ found objects Earth, water, fire and air
3 Purple Geometry Celebrations
4 Yellow Threads/ Stitches Opposites
5 Green Embellishments Animal, vegetable, mineral
6 Pink Linen / silk/ lace Heritage, tradition
7 Neutral Print/ words Numbers
8 Orange Improvisation Home and family
9 Blue Vintage Places

(Remember that you can choose an INSPIRATION for the whole year or be inspired by what’s chosen on a month-by-month basis. Up to you.)

Here are some images from our last meeting on 8 November. Some are finished quilts!
