The next meeting is on Wednesday 27 April in the CQ room, from 10am until 12 noon.
Convener Wendy will demonstrate how to make a small traditional drawstring bag. It’s the perfect canvas for using some of your lovely Japanese patchwork fabrics. Or for doing some sashiko – or using a sashiko panel that you have already stitched. It’s just right for shibori or hitomezashi.
Wendy will also show you ways that Japanese designers use patterns on part of the bag, to make them look more interesting. You might want to bring a notepad to sketch design ideas.
No equipment is needed as it is a demonstration. Hopefully you will go home inspired to do your own creative take on the bag.
