At the first Wednesday drop-in on 5 October, member Jakki Cashman will be demonstrating quilting on a domestic machine using Westalee rulers. Jakki has previous demonstrated this at an evening drop-in and was asked for a repeat at one of the daytime drop-ins.
Rulers have been used for a quite a while on long arm machines but a recent innovation has been their use on domestic machines. Westalee (an Australian company) has developed a sewing machine foot and sets of rulers to use with this method of machine quilting.
The drop-in runs all day, from 10am until 4pm, the demo will be in the morning, from 10am.
If you want to have a try and already have the foot and the rulers Jakki has suggested you bring a fat quarter quilt sandwich, your machine, foot and rulers.
