Exhibition last days- War Time Quilts, until 22 November

To coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign, Manly Art Gallery & Museum is hosting WAR-TIME QUILTS: Quilts from Military Fabrics from the Annette Gero Collection, from 3 July – 22 November 2015. The quilts in the exhibition have been assembled by Dr. Annette Gero, who has been documenting and collecting quilts since 1982.

This very rare collection of ‘war quilts’, made by active soldiers and prisoners of war from pieces of disused uniforms, army blankets and other discard military fabrics, includes quilts dating from the Napoleonic Wars (1803-15), the Crimean War (1853-56) and World Wars One and Two.
