This Thursday is the evening meeting, held at the Cook Community Hub Hall, 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
All the usual fun – library, name badge draw, lucky door prize, raffles, supper and of course ‘show and tell’. Although this close to the exhibition this can be a bit of an unknown quantity.
This month the ‘guest speaker’ is the Modern Quilt group – one of the special interest groups within Canberra Quilters. They will be talking about what modern quilting is, the modern quilting movement, and how the interest group got started. There will also be a little about the Modern Quilt Show in Berry, and QuiltCon in Austin, Texas. There will be ‘show and tell’ as well.
REMINDERS:
This is the last meeting before the exhibition so please return your raffle books to Cornelia – with the money. You can take more books to sell but they need to come back before or during the exhibition (21-24 August). The raffle is drawn on the Sunday afternoon of the exhibition so we need your tickets returned before then so they can go into the draw.
This will be your last meeting to secure pre-paid entry tickets from Jan. These tickets are at a discount to the normal door price.
The volunteers roster for the exhibition has been published. If you are on the roster you should have received a copy either via email or post. There is a MAJOR CHANGE to what has been published- we WILL be using the door list system for entry, as in previous years. Expertise Events decided not to go with the change to a ticketed entry system.
Quilt Delivery day is on 9 August – to the CQ room, between 9am and 4.30pm.
Sales Room item delivery is on Wednesday 20 August at EPIC, between 10am and 1pm.
