The next meeting of the Art Quilters will be on Saturday, from 1pm in the CQ room at Cook.
For the mini-workshop Anieta will be leading the group in the surface design and construction of an accordion book/ shelf book. You will need to bring:
- A piece of fabric cut @ full width of fabric by about 6” to 8” wide. This should be backed with some heavyish vilene if you wish it to stand up on a shelf, otherwise simple cotton batting or thin wadding fused to the back if you wish to turn it into a fabric book.
- These pieces work best if they have a theme so keep collecting ephemera. None have to be washable as the piece will hopefully never get wet. Paper, lace fabric, buttons, badges, feathers i.e. just about anything that is not too fat. It can be attached with stitch, white glue, gel medium, vliesofix or other fusible. So bring some threads and scraps of fusible to get started.
- Paints and pens for writing and extra colour.
Don’t forget to bring your Tiny Treasure for show and tell. Plus anything else you wish to share with the group.
