Have you ever thought about selling your handmade creations? Then this is the meeting for you. We also talk with a panel of Canberra Quilters Members about how to price your handmade items, the impact of underpricing handmade and why it’s important to price items correctly.

Please bring something along for show & tell. We all like to see what everyone is working on.

All the usual meeting fun- lucky door prize, badge draw, raffle and regular show and tell. Don’t forget to stay and chat over a cuppa and check out the show and tell.

Membership renewals fall due on 1 January. Why not renew early at the meeting?

The exhibition raffle is over for another year- perhaps you or your friendship group would consider making the raffle quilt for next year! Talk to the Exhibition Co-ordinator Julie Ricketts.

Library will be open for this meeting, so stock up for some spring projects.

Here are some tip images from this blog author- the witch finger as an alternative awl to hold things in place while sewing and the upright unpicker hack (small unpicker and an empty Aurifil thread spool). Lets you cut thread for hand piecing or to cut threads when you are chain piecing.

The alternative awl – a witch finger Halloween toy

Insert a small seam ripper into an empty Aurifil thread spool – thread cutter. (Idea courtesy of Megan Pitz of Canoe Ridge Creations, via Instagram – here is a link for you to watch a short video)

The evening meeting is this Thursday, 6 October, 7pm for a 7.30pm start, in the Hall at the Cook Community Hub.

For the Days for Girls presentation, we are calling on donations of the following items for the kits they make:

Please see member Louise Fredericks with any of these items or to make cash donations. For underwear and fabric: bright and patterns, no light colours, no faces or animals.
