Starts today: resurfacing the back car park at Cook Community Hub

Canberra Quilters are reminded that the resurfacing of the car park at the Cook Community Hub starts TODAY, Monday 2 June until Thursday 5 June.

The Community Services Directorate have advised the following:

To ensure the long term life and durability of the car park, Community Services Directorate has engaged a company to resurfase the car park with hot asphalt (which is also known as hot-mix). The use of asphalt will provide a far superior surface in the car park, as well as extend the life of the car parking area as a whole.

The resurfacing works will take 3 days to complete, and during this time there will be NO ACCESS to the car park. While the asphalt is being laid, the machinery used is noisy and the materials can smell bad. Also there will be large trucks driving in and out of Ellis street to deliver materials to the site.

The works will commence on Monday 2 June and go through until Thursday 5 June 2014, weather permitting.

Attached is a map outlining the area being resurfaced and alternative parking arrangements.
