Small Japanese Projects meeting – 25 November

The next meeting of the Small Japanese Projects group is on Wednesday in the CQ room at Cook, from 10am until 12 noon. It is followed by the drop in, until 4pm, incorporating the Lucy Boston interest group.

Here is a message from convenor Wendy:

It’s our last meeting for the year – already! Let’s get together to share some Christmas goodies, and let’s have a bumper show and tell session. Bring something small and tasty to share for morning tea (from 10 am).

For show and tell: look back at the things you made during the year, and bring a selection along. This is a good time to finish projects that could be Christmas gifts. As a reminder, here are some of the small projects we worked on:

  •  Clothes made from kimonos and more
  •  Kumihimo braids
  •  Lotus and origami flowers
  •  Shibori indigo dyeing
  •  Origami bag
  •  Tiny pincushions in a cup
  •  Small appliqué block
  •  Big stitch pincushion

Bring any other relevant show and tell, of course.

Shuji usually opens his Wabi Sabi Designs shop about a week before Christmas. Look out for the pamphlets that usually appear at the Christmas evening meeting. It’s great to support a business that supports us.
