Rose Lewis is a Quilt/Textile artist, teacher, writer and designer who lives in country Victoria. Rose specialises in applique, trapunto and designing. In her classes she instructs and guides her students within certain techniques to enhance their quilting life and personal journey.
Rose has won a number of quilting awards including the 2014 Canberra Quilters Inc. Best of Show for Through the Garden Gate.

Machine Applique Workshop
Date: Saturday 21 May 2016, 9.30am – 4.30pm
Cost: $120 (members) $150 (non members) – Final payment due 21 April 2016
Learn machine applique that looks like needleturn. Participants will make the Poppies project specifically designed for this workshop.
Rose used the machine applique technique in her 2014 Canberra Quilters Inc. Best of Show quilt – Through the Garden Gate.

Rose’s technique for trapunto does not involve threading wool into an area or cutting into the back of a quilt to stuff the area. Her technique is all done before the quilt is layered ready for quilting.
Participants will be able to complete her Daisy project or, if they have completed the machine applique workshop, add trapunto to their Poppies project.
Demonstration of Techniques
Date: Sunday 22 May 2016, 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Cost: $40 (members) $70 (non members) Final payment due 21 April 2016
A two hour demonstration of four techniques including:
- How to easily pin base your quilt
- How to “Wash N Block” your quilt
- how Rose works with her fabric to achieve the amazing results
- quilting large quilts on a domestic machine.
