Participants wanted for a slow stitching project, with installation artist Michele Elliot
Belconnen Arts Centre 17th – 21st June
The Belconnen Arts Centre is presenting a new project by four artists entitled Slowing Down Time 4. Louise Curham, Michele Elliot, Sue Healey and Jo Law will create a body of work that evolves and accumulates over the duration of the exhibition. Working with film, sound, choreography, textiles, installation and light, the artists’ focus is one of dialogue and exchange … between each other, the work and their audiences.
As part of this exhibition at the Arts Centre, Michele Elliot invites anyone interested to join her in some ‘slow stitching’. Michele will be in the gallery from 17th and 21st June, and constructing fabric panels as a mirror response to the ceiling structure in the foyer space.
If you would like to be involved and are handy with a needle and thread, please come along to contribute to the making of this ephemeral work. Come in and sit, stitch and chat with her.
