Introduction to Patchwork and Quilting – 20 May

AN INTRODUCTION TO PATCHWORK AND QUILTING

Is this a hobby or skill you would like to learn?

Are you interested in finding out more?

Canberra Quilters is the oldest quilting guild in Australia and some of our members are world renowned quilters.

They all started as beginners! Some had no experience of sewing. Some thought they had no artistic talent.

Others of us are happy making quilts for our family and friends. What ever level you want to achieve, why not start now? We would love you to enrol in our Introduction to Patchwork and Quilting taster day to be held in our room at the Cook Community Hub.

We are hoping to unlock your creativity and start you on the road to a ‘beautiful obsession’.

WHEN- Saturday 20th May 9:30am – 3pm

COST- $25 and includes morning tea

WHERE- Building C, 41 Templeton St, Cook ACT

 The programme will look at:

  1. Different styles of patchwork, blocks, appliqué, strips, hexies etc.
  2. Useful equipment
  3. Fabric choices and colour
  4. Construction of quilt
  5. Quilting

If you are ready to learn more:-

  • We will show you how to turn your first blocks into your first quilt, or
  • Point you to some of the region’s amazing teachers and their beginners’ courses.

For more information or to enrol email Canberra Quilters Workshop Coordinator, Valerie Merritt.
