The first Friendly Friday meeting of the year will be held in the CQ room tomorrow, starting at 10am until 1pm. Members hand stitch, chat, have morning tea, show and tell.

It is followed by the beginning of the Retreat at Home long weekend.

A special visitor to the FF meeting is Dr Christina Henri, the conceptual artist behind the Roses from the Heart project. This involves the production of bonnets representing the 25266 women transported to Australia as convicts. Christina is also Tasmania’s nominee as Senior Australian of the Year. The Australian of the Year awards are presented this weekend in Canberra.  For more information about the Roses from the Heart project please visit the blog here.

Don’t forget that membership renewals are due. Go to the membership tab on the website to download a renewal form. You can pay online so you won’t miss out on any benefits. You need to be a member to borrow from the library, stand for the committee, enrol in workshops at the member rate, exhibit or sell at the exhibition.
