Evening Meeting – 6 August

The evening meeting will be held this Thursday, 6 August, 7pm for a 7.30pm start, in the Cook Community Hub Hall. Yes-  it is the first day of the exhibition, but you can never look at too many quilts, right? And you might want to catch up with friends to talk about the exhibition and what you have bought in the sales room or in the vendors’ hall.

The extra show and tell will be round robin, row and group quilts. Bring along quilts you have made, or been given, as the result of a round robin, row or friendship exercise. There have been many over the years and we would like to see those quilts.

There are still volunteer shifts that need to be filled at the exhibition – particularly on the weekend.

This is the last meeting before the exhibition raffle is drawn – you need to return your sold and unsold exhibition raffle tickets at this meeting. There is a legal requirement to account for the tickets. Contact Leonie the raffle coordinator if you are having trouble. Her number is on the raffle book cover and the contacts page of the newsletter.

Did you get a catalogue at the exhibition? Some of our sponsors have some special offers, but you need the catalogue to get access them.

All the usual fun at the meeting – regular show & tell, lucky door prize, name badge draw, raffles, supper. The library won’t open tonight because the room is closed because of exhibition preparations, but the returns box will be outside the room.

The quilt in the banner is one of this year’s raffle quilts- Crystal Symphony by the Frayed Edges, quilted by Gemma Jackson of Pretty Bobbins.
