The evening meeting is this Thursday, 1 February, 7pm for a 7.30pm start, in the Hall at the Cook Community Hub. The meeting starts with formal committee (and other) reports and news, followed by an activity.
Membership Renewal- Don’t forget membership fee was due on 1 January. Renew at the meeting. You need to be a member to stand for the AGM in March. You also need to be a member by 31 March in order to exhibit or sell at the Annual Exhibition in August.
This is the meeting where sponsors & teachers make announcements about their activities for the coming year. The special interest groups of Canberra Quilters have been asked to provide info about their respective groups, when they meet and any other information you might want to ask about.
This is also the time for a library fund raising sale. Books excess to the library, and donated books and other media will be for sale in the Hall, for reasonable prices. Unsold items will be for sale at the February Wonderful Wednesday meeting. Come along to pick up a bargain!
Please bring something along for show & tell. We all like to see what everyone is working on.
All the usual meeting fun – lucky door prize, badge draw, raffle and regular show and tell. Don’t forget to stay and chat over a cuppa and check out the show and tell.
Library will be open at this meeting – if you can drag yourself away from the sale!

Payment in full must be made, your details will be kept, and we will cut on Monday/Tuesday and have it ready for collection – sorry but it’s just way too crazy to be trying to cut fabrics on the day of the sale.

In true Creative Retreat style, refreshments will be part of the celebrations too! And if the lecture and tasty goodies aren’t enough to tempt you, there will be a book signing, a pop-up shop (full of modern quilting fabrics, Aurifil threads and notions), and a display of quilts too.
If you’d like a bit more time with Denyse, there are a couple of workshop places left in the days following the lecture, they can be found here.
The host of the event is Jules McMahon, a Canberra Quilters member, and the founder of The Creative Retreat, a workshop space and fabric store located in a rural setting at Sutton, just 15 minutes from Dickson. You can contact Jules via email to email@example.com
