AGM this Thursday (3 April) – consider going on the committee?

At this Thursday’s evening meeting we hold our Annual General Meeting. The committee of eleven forms the backbone of our management structure and all positions need to be filled to ensure the group continues to run.

All positions on the committee are declared vacant at each AGM. Nominations have been received for some, but not all vacancies. We are still seeking nominations for President, Vice President and Publicity/ Sponsorship Officer. The first two are part of the executive of four and are vital to the running of the organisation. The latter is an important part of the communication structure.  You need to be a financial member, organised, understand the quilting world, have access to a computer as there is a lot of email between committee members. You need to be able to attend committee meetings once a month and some of the general meetings.

Details of the positions and a nomination form are in the March 2014 issue of Connecting Threads. Contact Jo at secretary@canberraquilters.org.au if you are interested.

The rest of the meeting has all the usual attractions of lucky door, raffles, show and tell, library and supper. The guest speakers, outgoing committee members Michelle Law and Angie Wilson, will talk about ‘Quilting in the Electronic Age’.

Doors open in the Cook Community Hub Hall at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start.
